Crime Stoppers of Raleigh County and Surrounding Communities started out as just: Crime Stoppers of Raleigh County. It was not long before we realized that criminals do not always operate within the boundaries of their home county. More often than not, their illegal activities carry over into neighboring counties. This is particularly true in thefts and drug dealing. For that reason, Crime Stoppers of Raleigh County broadened its territory to accept tips from citizens in neighboring communities of bordering counties.
Once a Tipster is provided a code number and the information is provided, that info is forwarded to law enforcement agencies and if the info leads to an arrest the Tipster receives a cash reward between $50.00 and $1,000.00, depending on severity of crime, number of charges, number of individuals arrested and amount of drugs or property confiscated or recovered.
